Sun Life Financial-Philippines, the country’s first and longest-standing insurance company, recently launched the second offering of Sun Dollar Maximizer, a limited-offer protection and investment product that gives its clients the opportunity to enjoy potential earnings from a diversified mix of high-growth assets and capital protection.



This new product, dubbed as Sun Dollar Maximizer (US-China-Gold/Bond) or Sun Dollar Maximizer (UCG), is a single-pay, US-dollar denominated, principal-protected investment-linked insurance product that matures after seven years. The premiums paid are invested in a pre-defined group of assets that allows an individual to take advantage of the potential recovery of the US market, the high-growth rate of China, the increasing value of Gold, and the safety offered by US Treasuries – all in just one product!

“We’re giving Filipinos a viable investment option for their dollar holdings. The US currency has depreciated by more than 20% over the last seven years. This product allows them to put their dollars in an instrument that would yield earnings which can potentially keep up with the depreciation rate, plus provide some upside,” shares Riza Mantaring, President and CEO of Sun Life Financial-Philippines.

“This was the rationale why we launched Sun Dollar Maximizer last year. The product became a huge success despite the limited offer period that both our advisors and clients have been asking when we would re-launch the product. We decided to open a second offering but this time using a different set of underlying assets which we believe may show stronger potential for future growth,” continued Mantaring.

Aside from the life insurance protection that one enjoys for the entire duration of the policy, one unique advantage of Sun Dollar Maximizer (UCG) is the use of a “Best of Profile, Look-Back” investment strategy. This allows the policy owners to participate in the earnings of the asset profile with the highest average quarterly performance at the end of the seven-year period.
