In 2016, Sun Life introduced a New Generation Wellness Product called SUN Fit and Well, with the wellness program GoWell as its prevention piece. This comprehensive solution has shifted the mindset of many Filipinos towards typical critical illness insurance, as the product addresses health protection needs while they go through the key stages of a health journey: Prevention, Diagnosis, Treatment and Rehabilitation. I will discuss more on this in another post since SUN Fit and Well caters mostly to the needs of a younger generation. A year after its launch, Sun Life found the need to look at an underserved market segment – The Filipino Senior Citizens – and decided to address their health protection needs as well.
I am so excited that TODAY, October 8, 2018, Sun Life is launching SUN Senior Care – a health and wellness solution for Filipino Grandpa and Grandma.
SUN Senior Care is a participating, limited-pay, whole life critical illness (CI) plan that provides a combined benefit of savings and comprehensive health protection even at a late stage in life, covering you during your golden years until age 100.
This critical illness (CI) insurance product accumulates cash values and earns dividends while providing protection from 17 covered advanced-age critical illness conditions and an additional benefit for any one of the four (4) surgeries/conditions that commonly happen to Grandpa and Grandma. It helps protect your hard-earned savings even if a serious illness strikes, as it is specifically designed for you to address your evolving life and health protection needs so you can enjoy a well-deserved retirement.

SUN Senior Care has you covered across key stages of your health journey.
Prevention – You can be part of GoWell, a Sun Life wellness community that offers easy access to a wealth of information, nutrition and health experts, fitness activities and events, and other available preventive care programs to help you live a healthier life.
Diagnosis, Treatment and Rehabilitation2 – SUN Senior Care provides a lump sum financial benefit equal to 150% of the Face Amount in case you are diagnosed with any of the covered 17 common advanced-age critical illness conditions. In addition, a one-time Special Benefit equal to 5% of the Face Amount will also be given to help replace funds you spent for any of the four (4) specific covered surgeries or conditions. These benefits aim to help you get through the financial pains caused by such conditions, addressing your needs to support expenses related to diagnostic investigations, treatment and/or rehabilitation.
SUN Senior Care also secures your loved ones future while you are in the best of health. Assuming no critical illness benefit has been paid, it guarantees you LIFE INSURANCE PROTECTION equal to 150% of the Face Amount throughout your lifetime.
SAVINGS
Limited-Pay Level Premiums – SUN Senior Care offers a platform to manageably save for your heath protection needs through its guaranteed limited-pay premiums which do not increase even as you grow older. You may choose to pay for 3, 5 or 10 years, whichever is more convenient for you.
Living Benefits – With SUN Senior Care, your policy earns non-guaranteed dividends which you may leave with Sun Life to accumulate, or get in cash. In case of emergency, money also comes in handy as your policy’s cash value is available for a policy loan.
Please note that the benefits indicated above are subject to the specific guidelines set by Sun Life and the actual provisions of the insurance policy contract.
